Each tune performed will be accompanied by a 1-page written statement of rationale and interpretation.  Include:

     1) why you chose the piece (rationale)

     2) background/history of the piece/artist (see Gioia's book as starting point)

     3) what you learned from your study of the piece and how it's helped develop your own personal             style, repertoire, language, musicianship, etc.

     4) any information about your interpretation/inspiration

     5) any additional relevant information
