Tune 1: Jazz Standard (from The Jazz Standards, Gioia) (Refer to Tunes Lists)

Tune 2: Folk Tune (from Anthology of American Folk Music, Smith) (Refer to Tunes Lists)

Tune 3: Blues or Rhythm Changes

Tune 4-8: any other American improvised music: modal, bebop, hard bop, fusion,

                      R&B, pop, rock, alternative, etc.

(0-70 bpm), up (230-300 bpm), and breakneck (300-400 bpm).

4) Choose repertoire that represents various decades and eras.

5) Create a tatement of Rationale and Interpretation (1 page) and Speech (30 seconds) to accompany the jazz standard and folk tune (minimum requirement). (Refer to Rationale & Speech)

6) Add the repertoire to a tune journal. (Refer to Journals)
